The Dr. Susan Block Institute is thrilled to announce the Eleventh Annual Eros Day Celebration, Saturday, January 23th 2010, at Dr. Suzy's Speakeasy in the Soul of Downtown LA.
Eros Day 11 will be celebrating hope for a new era of peace-through-pleasure politics and an end to lawless militarism in America and around the world. 
Traditionally, Eros Day honors Eros, the primordial god of lust, love, and intercourse according to classical mythology, and a little phallic planetoid according to modern astronomy, as well as the "Spirit of Eros" - the idea of passionate love and peace through pleasure. Ancient Greek festivals of Eros date back to 1800 BCE. In the 1990's, Italian filmmaker Lasse Braun developed the modern holiday and passed it on to sexologist Susan Block, PhD, who has hosted annual celebrations drawing hundreds of participants from around the world, while thousands more share in the festivities on DrSusanBlock.com. The holiday of Eros Day is celebrated annually on the fourth Saturday night of January when the planetoid 433-EROS spins closest to Earth. 
Internationally renowned for its orgiastic revelry, Eros Day at the Speakeasy features porn stars, professors, singers, swingers and the couple-next-door, decked out in togas, lingerie, fetish gear, formal wear or nothing at all. About the Host: Dr. Susan Block is a Yale educated sexologist, bestselling author, talk-show host with specials on HBO, social and political commentator, lecturer and founder of The Bonobo Way of Peace through Pleasure. In 1992, she started Dr. Suzy's Speakeasy, headquarters for RadioSuzy1, RadioSuzy1TV and the Block Institute, which explore her philosophy of “Ethical Hedonism.”
