I believe that all great things and big dreams spring from our love affairs with life. This company is a love affair. It was started in 1984 by two intense people who became good friends. Then we became lovers. Almost everyone said it wouldn’t last. With pleasure and persistence, we proved them wrong. And, like all good fairytales, we got married and lived happily ever after.

I was a writer, therapist and radio talk show host riding the airwaves into the future; he was a gentleman publisher, a romantic relic from the past. He came from deposed royalty; I came from Philly. I graduated with honors from Yale; he ditched high school and published groundbreaking magazines.

Separately, searching for love and truth, we both went a bit mad. Together, that madness metamorphosed into true love, hot sex, a vibrant company, a television show unlike any other, a film studio, an independent production house, a giant website, an art gallery, books, videos, pleasure toys, salons, fashion, therapy, ethical hedonism, HBO specials, the Bonobo Way, and a mission to spread our love throughout the world.

The madness continues as we celebrate 19 years of love and friendship, marriage, sex, revolution and evolution.
